Not a big hockey fan, but a huge sports fan in general, so I occasionally would watch hockey when there is nothing else on. I have heard that OLN will be showing hockey, if true, it should be a good thing for hockey, anything is better than god awful ESPN that usually tries to cover all the sports and ends up covering none. Hopefully Caps will be good this year, might go to couple games just to see all the rule changes they were talking about.

My only concern, why NHL would not wait for baseball season to be over, they always talk about bringing casual fan into watching hockey, but can they seriously consider to compete against play-off baseball after 1.5 year of absence. Not a very good marketing strategy.

Moreover, people are talking about Tampa is going to be good this year, didn?t their goalie Habibulin (sp) went to Chicago? Without him they stand no chance.

I think it is important for the league for big market teams to do well, lets hope Rangers do well, so we don?t have to search for hockey on more obscure network than OLN.

Fookin' ell what a game! 5-2 Lightning and looked very strong. Either that or Carolina just sucked balls. Looked up at the scoreboard and noticed that the Kings were beating Dallas 4-0 in the 1st Period!!! Now I look at espn.com and see that Dallas came back to win 5-4. WTF???

Toronto 2 - Ottawa 3 after penalty shoot-out

What is your thoughts on the new penalty shoot-out rule for tie games? Good entertainment value for sure! Not sure if this is how a game should be decided though especially when you bust your ass for 65 minutes.
