I have to say that I'm beginning to thing that Digweed, as much as he is a musical and DJ God, is a bit of a dick. For me it's fine that he doesn't feel the need to dance around behind the decks like others, and he even talked about about this during one of the Bunkers, but I've really noticed that he barely makes eye contact or even looks out over the audience while he's playing. He'll chat and smile with the people behind him, but I get the feeling the he feels just a little bit of contempt for the people on the floor. He talks the talk about how great the audience is but at the time I don't get the feeling that he feels it.
Couple this with his obsessive approach to keeping every single one of his sets private. I know he's a businessman and I've heard what he says about wanting the artists to get paid, but I think he takes this to an extreme that no-one else does.
So, am I about to get caned or does anyone agree?

Not listened yet, but i read its filled with lots of talking...

And do agree with most of what NastyD says. Hes taken the moodiness to the extreme. If you cant enjoy "your job" do something else. Seeing someone look so miserable can have an effect on a crowd.

I think hes just got an OCD type approach to playing. Hes so concentrated and locked into what he is doing that he doesnt want to break his concentration. I get that, hes playing 6 hrs on average. And hes got to make it flow and mix it perfectly.
If he was pulling that Oakenfold in 2002 shit, where he barely mixes and just poses between tracks, then Id agree more. But hes making 60 songs connect seemlessly, that takes alot of your attention and focus.
I dont think hes a dick, just a little bit of an obsessive/perfectionist who needs to be locked into what hes working on. I see this alot with friends of mine who do woodwork or costume making...artists get into the zone and kinda go into themselves and their work.

As far as sets, he is a bit stingy with the ending parts of his sets, which I love when we get them. Also the older stuff, like Twilo. But he puts out 5-10 live set snippets a year. My only issue is its almost always the first hour or two instead of the peaktime. He has a very extensive Live In series and the Bunker Sessions which has been great at filling in the gaps of what we miss from those long sets.

Hell I barely like to be disturbed when I am just listening to Digweed, Howells, etc. so I cant blame him for being in the zone.

Sort of funny, the guy pushes out multiple hours of content weekly & we still have negative things to say.

On the way Digweed is behind the decks, I'd much prefer that than some of the artists out there, who are way over the top.

Hopefully they release the non fan contributions.
As for Digweed he has always been like that, Id rather listen to someone like him than watch someone like who is into crowd interaction.
