'The Residency' DJs to hit clubs across UK

    Words: Terry Church

BBC Radio 1 has announced plans to take its newest dance music show 'The Residency' to six clubs across the UK.

From 1st October, each of the show's six resident DJs - Eddie Halliwell, Nic Fanciulli, Crissy Criss, Kutski, Trophy Twins, and Jon O'Bir - will record their sets from different clubs for broadcasting in November.

Pete Tong, who mentored 'The Residency' DJs said: " I am very proud of the six, they have cut their teeth as broadcasters and now face the exciting challenge of bringing their show to a live club audience.

"I'm confident that they will step up to the task, it's also a great chance for Radio 1's audience to hear some great new dance music."

'The Residency' started on 1st May 2005, and the six DJs take turns to host the Sunday morning show each week.

After 36 weeks, Pete Tong will review the show's DJs and will make changes or additions, a move designed to keep Radio 1 at the forefront of new dance music. The broadcast schedule of 'The Residency' tour is as follows:

Nic's show is wicked - usually better than the essential mix that precedes it!
