i enjoyed some of the sounds you created with this mix, but no offense...i just cant get into a mix done on ableton. i'd rather hear a dj mix on their own, flaws and all...

No offense taken.. Music should be about choice, which is one of the ideas I try and get across.. (i.e. that's why I play a lot of things most people might not have heard..)

About Ableton though, this mix sounds pretty similar to the non-Ableton mixes I've done.. In other words, most of what I did could have been done live.. The only thing I wouldn't have been able to do if I hadn't used Ableton is some of the echos and reverb FX because I don't have external FX.. There's several older non-Ableton mixes by me floating around Emule if anybody uses it..

I absolutely love 'Moonburn' from you. Especially the remix. I find myself playing it quite often. D/Ling now.

It`s all about the music... and not how or where it is done.

                  IMO of course

agreed, as long as it sounds good and the dj doesn't try to claim he/she spun it live when it was really done on the computer.

can't wait to hear this set!
Should I fuck you at that not until the ass, inject then tremendously hard bumschen and to the termination in the eyes yes?

hey hydra.. todd's always looking for new stuff for pure and the other sublabels, but i know he's been pretty interested in finding some new/unique ideas.. it's difficult nowadays to come up with something that's commercially viable in the US but still pushes the envelope, but it's worth shooting for..

and right now, i'm pretty sure he's interested in totally new names who've never put anything out (or very little), so it's a good time to send stuff again, if you haven't recently..

generally todd likes energy the most in the tracks - i mean, i love moody, deep stuff when it's done right, but todd's all about energy, so that's a good thing to keep in mind.. once in a while todd asks me what i think about a CDR someone sent, but i almost always feel kind of ambivalent about everything including my own stuff, so i'm not usually much help in that respect.. mostly, it's up to him totally..

there's a huge package coming soon with sort of an 'election-year' release of new mixes of kobbe & nitro's 'america' but aside from that there's only one or two other releases ready or almost ready, so he probably needs stuff..

a good way to break in sometimes is to either: a) try doing a bootleg of something, but make it really inventive, and not just put a house beat behind some rock song like many of them do (for instance, the erykah badu one is very good) or b) ask todd (or someone else) if you can remix something 'on spec' meaning you do the remix and you only get paid if they use the mix.. (if they don't use the mix, which will most often be the case early on, you did a lot of work and don't make anything, but you gained some valuable experience..)
