Make sure you don't have any floppies in the drive."If not for Josh Wink, Sasha wouldn't own any Acid except for the paper stuff he dopes chicks with at clubs." - Jenks, 2004Comment

Re: Computer Problem.....Need Help!!
Usually you can access the bios setup by hitting the Delete key when the computer boots up and it shows the POST screen (where it does the RAM check).
In the bios, look at the setup for hard drives, make sure the primary drive is the one which has Win XP installed. Then look at the boot sequence and check it is correct.
Usually the common problem is if your computer is set up to boot from: 1) cdrom 2) floppy 3) hard disk. Which means if you have a CD left in the cdrom drive, or a disk left in the floppy drive, the bios is looking at them to boot up, which is wrong. So make sure you have no CDs or disks in those drives.
If you've done that and still having the same problem, open up the casing, check the cables connected to your hard drives. If everything looks secure ...
The partition table for the hard drive could be fucked, or your hard drive could be physically fucked.
It'd be best if you can get hold of a bootable Win XP install disc. Boot up with that, and there is an option to Repair.
Otherwise, you can look at www.bootdisk.com for floppy disk options.

Re: Computer Problem.....Need Help!!
im tryin to see if there is a way to burn the boot disks on a cd instead of floppy becuz it wants me to use 6 floppys for each boot disk especially for xp it wants me to get sp1 and sp2 as well as the win xp boot disk. so im tryin to see if it is possible to do it on a cd instead of having 18 floppy disks. but thanks so far for the help all im gonna try some of the things if any other suggestions i would appreciate it.Edited - Bossy to racey for workComment

Re: Computer Problem.....Need Help!!
you can do it with Nero, but you need a boot image for the cd... in other words, you need a bootable floppy to mirror to the CDComment
