I would liken Damian Lazarus to Bloody Marys. Everyone likes them and they're everywhere but I keep trying to like them and I can't. I do like techy acid, f-ed up electro house music and consider myself pretty open minded musically but one FAMILIES cd and four livesets later I'm still not a fan-if anything I've felt he sacrifices the groove for the straight weird and Dissonant and I heard many a wreck on the livesets esp one from Italy where he played that Safari track (another bloody mary for me).
Now, before I get destroyed by anyone for posting this....

I am trying again in lieu of all your reviews because I respect and recognize most of you and I've always felt diggers was a pretty good judge of character.

if you didn't like the families cd you probably won't like this, its no big deal if you don't like it mate. It doesn't make diggers wrong or mean that you should respect the MS boys any less. I like the lazarus sets but i would not listen to them all day every day, that is for sure. For me its a nice change to the stuff i tend to listen to normally.

for sure. from what i hear he doesn't really hold back while he's playing if you know what i mean. he def is known more for his track selection then his mixing in most cases. i think some of his popularity derives from his crosstown rebels label, which puts out some tracks that are just total mindfucks. my current fave being tolfrey & sylvester - acix. shit is hot!

also depends on which mix of safari you mean - holdens remix is ridiculous (hard to mix tho) and i think it's an alex smoke remix are considerably better then the first with all those damn elephant noises. i don't like those either, but i do have the record.

Well, I just checked the 'megaupload' site, and looks like they gave 20 premium downloads though I only paid for 10 for you all, whoever grabbed them first. Thats very cool of the site to double my dollars.
