I've been looking at Trentemoller and Martinez lataly and they are pretty good. There's a lot of interesting free stuff at http://www.thinner.cc/main.php

But how are you as a DJ (ie Jeffrey Collins) supposed to find out what labels and/or artists put out a particular sound unless you attach some sort of label to it?

Jeffrey's post would've sounded more like a retard at a Cosmology and Astrophysics convention had he worded it like "I'm looking for the sound that's EDM but it has these little noises but not too much, but not as much of those other noises and sounds as the other music of its type but......." I don't like sub-subgenre labels as much as the next guy, but sometimes a little labeling is necessary.

right on man! i have always been one of those people who hate subgenre labels, but after reading your post i have gotten into my extremely thick skull that we need those sub-genres or else we would be stuck sifting through 50 million tracks that were all labeled house!

I now see the light! thank you ska!

                  p.s. i am an idiot

                        Re: Micro-house

To me. Micro house is more like what Bernard Gunter does but with a beat behind it. Kind of Lowercase with a 4/4 beat. Minimal house to me is hawtin and brinkmann. I started off listening to minimal techno and house, and just eventually got back to it.

Trentmoller does do some get stuff, but I don't think i'd consider it minimal, As his tracks have a lot of stuff going on with them.

It's always the DNB guys that have a serious peoblem with anything with a 4X4 beat.
