What's the deal with Jimmy Van?
Formerly the opening DJ for S&D, he has now become a sad shell of a DJ. As the transition DJ for Lee Burridge on saturday - after a wicked set by BK - he cleared the floor with such gems as the beatle's rocket man (huh? even a year ago it sux'd!) and a tears for fears remix of shout (who bothered to remix this track anyway?). he cut the energy level in half and i felt like i was wading through molasses.
while this may sound harsh and opinionated, it's not. it's a wake up call that standing on a stage and sliding a mixer knob while records spin no longer cuts it as a premier inter'l DJ. i know many others who attended the show who felt the same way.
for a refresher on how top intern'l DJing is done, see Lee Burridge.
Take me on a rocket ride....
