So since I graduated college in May, I've done shit with my major. I was delivering furniture throughout my senior year, and over the summer I was offered a sales position. At first I thought it would suck, but I'm pushing a quality product, so it's easy to sell.

None the less, I broke a store record this last pay period, and sold over $37,000 worth of furniture in two weeks. At that dollar amount, I get 10%. Sweet right? I knew taxes would get me, but I never imagined they would take $1,200.00 from little ol me in just two weeks worth of pay. I still made a good bit for two weeks, but I could have paid bills for an extra month with what Uncle Sam ganked from me. Bastards!

Ahh a student steps into the world where the goverment stops giving and starts taking . we get fucked over royaly in england especialy if you drink smoke and drive .. goverment takes 34% of what you earn to start with ( minus a puny allowance ) then u find alcohol ciggrettes and fuel are taxed at 300% ( this varies across those ,300 is just an average) plus 1.8K a year on council tax then almost everything else has 17.5% v.a.t. and to make matters worse we get charged more for everything in england than any other country .. this puts huge dents into my toys/gadgets funds

You also have national healthcare, a great transportation system, etc. Your money goes somewhere and I can definitely understand that feeling you get in your gut when you see the taxes taken out of your paycheck.

What do you expect.... the gov has to get the money from somewhere to feed the millions on welfare

and to rebuild a NO that is going to get wiped out again next year with the hurricanes expected to be just as bad as this year

Just wait until you buy a house and have to pay property & school taxes...no wonder most houses in the US look like there ready to fall apart...ya bloody can't afford to keep em up because of the taxes.
