It is as easy understood as you want it to be. I can not explain it any clearer than I have.
Read Galatians and you will see that we are no longer bound by the Old Testament. It was a mentor to help people along until Christ came and died. The Old Testament was "nailed to the cross" with Jesus. He is the "new covenant."
Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenanttwith the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
2Ti 3:16 All scriptureis given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
