Microsoft is rolling out Direct Push for Windows Mobile which will enable the same email push technology. It's a feature update for Windows Mobile and a free upgrade for MS Exchange servers. It's not just for emails, but for all your contacts, tasks, everything that you might do on your desktop's Outlook, can be replicated on Windows Mobile now.

I'd say it's gonna be rough for BlackBerry even without this court case. A lot of users and enterprises can easily and conveniently switch over to MS Direct Push.

i love my blackberry, fucking things are so handy living in NY and working in gotham. i guess they arent as viable outside the major cities. im gonna be lost. especially when you get the larger memory chips put into them, so handy for working outside office.

I'm still lost about this email push technology ? what's different about it ? I know I could fucking google it but I'm lazy after all the Pizza I've crammed down my throat and I'm not opening a new window to go hunt down what it means and then find my way back to this text box to say the next thing....

is it any different from the GPRS based connectivity you get on a palm treo ? I mean just use SMTP & POP3 to send / get email

Push means your emails are "pushed" to you. You don't have to dial a connection and request for your In box status.

yes its pretty slow to catch on here for sure..... dont know why these multi million dollar companies are so slow to catch up on cellphone technology. India being a third world country launched 3G and Edge (dont even know half the new names on there) and I met people who were streaming tvs on their cell phones and having video conferencing.... that 6682 was selling like MAD back in July / Aug

My friend Marky lives in Japan. He was telling me the best phones you can get in the states, ie- the most expensive ones with the most options...are the ones they give away for free in Japan, entry level.
