Re: HD DVD vs Blu Ray.
Blue Ray discs can store 50GB max and HD DVD 30, right? When I think about what a double layer DVD-R costs here, I am sure this will take some time until it´s affordable no matter which format will dominate the markets. The format won't have a chance in Europe just because of having a record medium for HD-TV as this is not really an issue here. Only a handful of programs are already broadcasting in HD-TV quality and the devices to watch HD-TV are still pretty expensive...it´s no mass market yet and it will take years even to become a sub-standard only. Maybe the World Chamionship in Football next year which will be broadcasted in High Definition quality will give the HD technology a boost..we'll see.
Those discs would be awesome for storing music though. Another evolution step from needing several hundred CD-R to only 30 DVD-R and then maybe only a handful of discs anymore...nice one.
