all artists are fragile. we create for all people to enjoy. it does not destory our life, but it can sure damper a day when you put in a lot of hard work. that is all.
So, from what I gather, I dont know my stuff because Im not interested in the new Proton release. Thats a low blow. First of all, I did not mean any disrespect to Brian, Daniel, Lance and Chloe. I think that Proton Radio is top notch and I am glad that they are starting to finally make a name for themselves. However, as Rubyraks mentioned, different strokes for different folks. I like it deep, dark, and hard. For me, Electro has no depth and I have a hard time letting myself go to get into it and ride it for the experience. I also feel that electro has been the big shift the last 18 months as the club scene becomes more trendy, and I have listened to a lot of my favorite Djs take that route (ie. Sasha and Digweed, Luke Fair). I congratulate Brian and Daniel on their upcoming release, however, I can think of others who I would like to hear mix a Proton release. Thanks for letting me be titled to my own opinion!
that should be the motto of every music messageboard i check out. if any of the above was aimed at me, i have nothing against what you like to listen to, but saying you were "glad that chloes cd flopped" just isnt on imo. why would it matter if the cd had been finished and come out, why would you prefer for it to never exist than for it to exist and you just not listen to it... thats all i'm saying.
if i wasnt a fan of someone, i just wouldnt listen to their cd...
hi. my mix actually totally rocked. its such an interesting combo of ambient, house, electro, techno and grooves. my mum died in the process of doing this stupid mix cd. the music i got for the mix wasn't particularly fantastic, so i had to recreate each tune or take the parts i wanted. it became really hard to concentrate on that when my mum was getting closer to dying every day. so, no.. i wouldn't say flopped. i'd like to see anyone try to focus on being creative, while something like this happens. its just not that easy.
Sorry to hear this news, my and I'm sure all of MS's sincerest condolences to you.
I for one was looking forward to your proton cd...shame on the timing, but what's life if not about twists and turns.
"Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching.
Sing like nobody's listening.
Live like it's Heaven on Earth."
"different strokes for different folks"

Well, Pelo, I guess I have personal issues with the choices from day 1. Ive been listening and supporting Proton Radio for several years now. Putting out a major CD release is a big deal to me and it should be something to get excited about. However, the way I feel about the choices is the same way I feel about James Levelle being a GU artist, or Luke fair doing an OS for Bedrock. Ive been listening to both of those labels since day one as well, and its hard for me to see it take a turn that I have a hard time listening to. Its all personal i guess and maybe I have some issues that I need to get over. Sorry fellas for being the dickhead of the thread, just stating how I feel.
there is so much good music out there, why limit yourself? i am highly supportive of up and comers, and love a different spin from dark, hard, fast, mean, untz untz. i love a good jimmy of a surprise. and yes disappoints do suck highly. it always about the untz untz, but there are so many untz untz out there.
if you are so upset over the selection, why don't you start your own label and publish your own artists ... you will learn it is not as easy as you think. you are allowed your own words, but so are others. this world is not fair, is not even close. if you do not like the what you see or hear, you also have the power to change that. that is your right.
you have been listening since day one, and on the other side of that i believe b-sides, rls, and ttt have all been proton shows since day one. as with lance cashion, these guys have been providing weekly/monthly shows, and i am sure they have as many fans on proton as people that aren't fans. if you feel that you deserve a mix from a certain artist on the station, thats one thing, but these guys deserve to get the chance to make these cds just as much as anyone else imo.
hi. just to clarify, i'm not upset about people not being interested in what i do. i actually enjoy hearing all sorts, because it makes me challenge myself.
i was just offering the real reason my comp, if that's what it was, didn't come out.
