    Land of the Dead

    George Romero's piece of shit.

Don't let the fact that Dennis Hopper stars in this fool you... it's a piece of shit. It feels like there's 7 different storylines going on at the same time during this movie, and every one of them makes no sense. the movie takes place in the near future, with the general public living in a sectioned-off part of the city away from all the zombies. the whole story doesn't revolve around the fear of the zombies, but rather nothing but a who's-cock-is-bigger fest among all the characters while killing dead people. waste of my time. and 50 cents for a dvd.

George Romero may have created the genre, but it doesn't mean he should keep dipping in it. worst zombie movie i've seen yet.

    Re: Land of the Dead

I thought it was a somewhat clever, but very thinly veiled take on the current political state in the U.S. (Dennis Hopper's character is a pretty obvious Donald Rumsfeld archetype) It's pretty heavy handed and nowhere near the greatness that Night of the Living Dead or Dawn of the Dead were in their time. I wanted to like it a bit more, but it wasn't a great film by any means.

A bit of a letdown, but I liked it for the nostalgic value.
