OK, just received an iPod the other day. I'm trying to load all my tunes on there, and there are a few tracks I picked up off of Napster that I can't get to copy -- I get a message about it being protected, blah, blah, blah.
Is there a way to get these files onto an iPod? Anyone know? Am I just SOL?
?We?re not going to advise you to do anything untoward, but apparently if you install Winamp along with the Output Stacker plug-in you can convert those protected WMA files to WAV files and then burn them to CD without paying a penny?

I won't be back until next Tuesday, so if Get Carter is the correct answer, I would appreciate of someone else posts a new cap for me
once it is in itunes there should be no excuse to get that to any ipod device. it will do it's own thing when you import a song. once in the list in itunes, you should be golden.
thanks, I may try that. And might I add, I'll do it with a crystal clear conscience. I paid for the damn songs, I ought to be able to use them on my own stuff.

that's the problem, though -- it isn't loading into iTunes. Maybe if I try manually importing it rather than using the automatic transfer, it will work.
try using another program to burn the songs onto an audio cd, check your preferences in itunes and make sure your importing with mp3 format, then import the songs off the audio cd into itunes
