Whats the score on this legally?
If you buy the records can you then sell mix CD?s those same records? If you own the 12" do you own the rights as well, i would have though that you?d have to have the artist permission to include their tracks on a compliation.

I believe each track has to be licenced to that person for him to legally sell those cd's. In the record shops here, in Tampa, people sell the jewel cases (as it says on the case) and you get a free cd. You dont own the rights just by purchasing the record. That would be like buying a dvd and owning the rights to that movie.
