[quote=rubyraks]I may be the only one here to say it, but I'd always felt his live sets were hit or miss and he always lost me as he got into his harder techno beats. Some of the sets I'd heard have been absolutely brilliant and some were just off, imo.

id agree with u somewhat .....i saw him in orlando at HOB and he was not very good at all...but that was the only time i saw him live that he was not on. soem of his recent sets that i have dl have also been hit or miss. and i hate the harder techno beats that he sometimes plays...

personally i like his chilled music and his houseier funky stuff the best.

Absolutlely worth seeing live...he drops "good" tunes regardless of genre. Get there early, he establishes a great mood in the beginning of his sets.

Go and experience it for yourself. Then make a decision whether it was worth it or not. This will be one show you will probably regret if you don't go.

...I start at about 10am, which is my favorite time of night, you can go really crazy. I particularly love it when the crowd starts thinning out around midday and you can go on till 2pm.
I love how 10 am is a time of night for him!!!

Re: Danny Howells - Worth Seeing?

So wait, I just had this thought, if Danny Howells has had some off-nights, that means he isn't incredible, and then thinking more I realized that every DJ that I can think of has some so-so nights under their belts too (hidden of course). Do you guys realize what this means? We've had the wool pulled over our eyes and ears, we've been had! I think we should demand an amazing night in writing from every DJ beforehand so that we can make sure they aren't ripping us off anymore....

I dont care if they made me cry actual tears of joy several times in the past, if they are going to experiment with changing up their style or "grow and challenge themselves as an artist" I need to know about it before I pay good money to not be surprised!!!!

( note: Mike's Sarcasm is not directed at anyone maliciously, it is just calling attention towards giving credit where credit is well earned, and a reminder that having a place in your soul that has been geniunely moved by an artist or musician cannot be taken away unless you want it to be. And it also has a disclaimer for one hit wonders and DJ's who suck on purpose as their temper-tantrum. And also a reminder how much we should all hate James Lavell. )

Damn, I wanted to go to that show. Too bad it was on a Sunday night.

Last time I saw Danny was here in Jax a little over a year ago and he was awesome. There could not have been more than 50 people there, but you would have sworn it was 500 by the way he was into it. Great vibe, great tunes, great mixing, great DJ!!!

                                from downtempo to hard techno
                                and everything in between.
                                A must.

                                1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
                                2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
                                3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
