    Walk the Line

Frankly, I've seen many great movies this year, but this one was one of the best...I may be a bit biased cuz' I'm such a huge Johnny Cash fan, but it was great regardless. I went with my friends, some of whom had never heard of Cash, and they all really liked it too! Joachin Phoenix was channeling Cash or something b/c he sounded just like him...

I'd recommend it to anyone. Go see it.

Three best movies this year thus far:
    1)Walk the Line
    2)Capote
    3)Good Night, Good Luck
    Peace.

saw this movie last night. WoW i was impressed. i seriously love joaquin in just about any role. he seriously nails it every time. i thought this role was absolutely fit for him to play. as he sounded just like cash all throughout the movie. even his guitar playing motions were identical. reese witherspoon was pretty good to i must say. everyone was really. robert patrick never lets you down either. solid cast for sure. i didnt realise Mr. Cash had been so addicted to drugs during his career. guess i should have figured it, but i didnt. still he was a legend and i happen to love a lot of his music. i currently have this one stuck in my head for about 2 weeks now. i even enjoyed this movie with a large jack & coke. jejejejejeje.

    10/10 IMO

ps.. does anyone know the johnny cash song that playing on the new commercials for The Shield on FX ?

"Hurt" by Johnny Cash off of American IV: The Man Comes Around. The Album that's got a black cover with a side shot of his face, with CASH in big white letters.

Glad you guys appreciated it as much as I did! I'm gonna try to go see Syriana tonight, I hope that's another winner too.
        Peace.

well you can't give Mr. Cash all the credit for hurt. it's a nine inch nails track that he redid. i also am moved by hearing his rendition of it. i find it amazing that he would cover this track so late in his life. talk about a range of music from his early days of "Cry Cry Cry" to covers of NIN songs. he truely opened up the world to the future of rock and roll.

I liked the film, but felt that they needed to go further with Cash's life, rather than focus on it being a stage for a love story. Joaquim Pheonix is masterful with the performance that he puts in, and shows a huge amount of ability with the singing that was required. I was also surprised to like Reese Witherspoon (whom I've loathed since the fucking Legally Blonde turds she turned out a while back), and was also impressed with her performance in the film.

It's unfortunate to see the life of such a great musician cut down into a couple of hours films, showing a great deal of promise early in the film with his life in music, but choosing instead to focus on the love he had with his second wife. I didn't think it was very fair to portray his first wife as such a shrew, coming off as someone that hung their children over his head and holding him back from his music. I can understand why the family wasn't very happy with the portrayal of his first wife.
