Along with Jeter, Rivera and Torre, Bernie was one of the few yankees that I couldn't hate on, no matter what. Always a class act even when his game was slipping (Now guys like Posada or O'Neil - that's a different story).
I wouldn't be too worried though, by all accounts your new CF may very well be:
Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he is not;
a sense of humor to console him for what he is. -
