Finally watched it and I was a bit dissapointed. The Movie is not bad but I missed Jackson's fingerprints in it. I didn't see anything new besides some action sequences. The beginning takes way too much time (for me basically because the characters/actors are not interesting). 2 hours would have been enough IMO.Comment

I really liked this movie....I thought it was really well done and the 3hrs flew by for me. I will admit I even cried at 2 different parts in the movie. I am really impressed with how they were able to put emotion behind Kong's eyes.sigpic

Saw it...abso-fucking-lutely LOVED IT!!!
What a grand, epic, monster of a movie. The whole Skull Island part was more than I even could have imagined. Making the inhabitance more like the witchs off of the Beastmaster than African tribes..uhh...people was a killer touch. The part right before Kong appears, with all of the drums and dancing and chicks that looked like they were on 5 white Mitsubishis...it was all so overwhelming and intense. Then it switches to Kong playing with his new "toy" and laughing and shit. Peter Jackson really made it a point to humanize him as much as possible...and suceeded immensely.
I thought this movie had Jackson's print all over it. I actually thought it was a little too LOTRish at times. Like when they were crossing the bridge after Kong has made off with his girl...very familiar.
All in all an awesome movie. Did anyone else notice how almost half the movie is close-ups of Naomi Watts' face. Not saying that is a bad thing at all...not by a long shot, but interesting. And I'm not one bit ashamed to admit that I got a little teared up when Kong let go of the spire atop the Empire State building and fell to his death. How cool was the slo-mo part when he was falling?? And the last line always gets me..."Well at least the planes got him." "No...it was beauty that killed the beast." Classic!!!Comment

It was quite entertaining and very comedic at times too. It got way hokey but we all know the original so that's kind of self-explanatory. I loved the part with all of the insects but I wanted to see some gore there.
And as for DuncingQueen, you ever heard of computer animation?

Kong's eyes when he died at the end were fucking amazingly done, I fucking had tears streaming down my face big time....
I didnt like the whole stampede scene as the effects were done strangely and didnt recreate how people actually focus on objects with a realistic depth of field (objects going in and out of focus that shouldn't have changed considering their placement in front of or behind other objects etc) but otherwise I fucking loved it.
The people on skull island were fucking CREEPY.Comment

Great movie, I really like it, my opinion is that i think is very real, and i just like it, but the part when kong is figthing with the T-Rex is kind of long, and i did like that, is like YEAH YOURE FALLING FROM THIS HUGE MOUNTAIN WHILE YOU ARE FIGTHING AND CATCHING JANE, AND THERE WAS 2 T-REX NOT JUST ONE, think is the worst part of the movie
