@ DQ: yeah, although the medication kept me quite dizzy most of the weekend...couldn't do shit really. Makes me wonder how I will feel when I get malaria...pretty sure to run into it at least once in my life when I start traveling. They say it's the worst fever you can have if you catch it badly...so I suddenly felt like a pussy complaining about this, hehehe...

Don't take any meds. Don't drink alcohol. Don't smoke. Don't workout. Don't eat anything for 3 days, maybe even 5 if you can take it. After 3 days your body will start to rid itself of all the gnarly cells. You will smell like trash. Your breath will reek and shitting is just disgusting. Only intake should be distilled water. When you do start eating again, be it day 4 or day 6 start slow ...mainly fresh vegetables and work yourself back into your old diet in 3 days time. Think positive and try to not over-exert yourself. You will be a new man in a week.

^^ ummm....maybe later Tim. Cleanup sounds interesting though I gotta say.

@Pickles: I have has most of them before my last trip, will prolly need only one or two shots this time. For malaria however you need to take pills, either Lariam or Malarone. Last one is a newer medicine that hasn't been tested very much yet, but Lariam is pretty well known to cause hallucinations and shit, heheheh....with me the effect was being überhappy the day after. Lucky me.

Maybe I'll take them with me, but not eat them this time. They don't protect you from malaria, most people that stay in Africa for longer periods don't take them either, only when they get malaria. I've heard some funny stories from friends that had really weird hallucinations, like a lion in their room (pissed his pants from fear) or a little blue gey following him (got REALLY annoyed with that little chap).
