dude, that is nothing. you should see the system INTERPOL has in europe. a lot more blanketing. london city alone has nearly 20,000 cameras. besides, what the fuck are you worrying about? are you doing crack in public? no, at least i doubt it, but they are there to make sure people on thier watch lists are gathering in subways and airports.

Sightless, I don't know what they tell you about Interpol, but those camera's are primarily property of national judiciary institutions, although Interpol gets to make use of them. Despite Interpol though, international communication between police forces could be a hell of a lot better IMO. It might work if they make it some kind of federal structure, but of course they won't, because that would look like real fruitful progression and co-op. And we wouldn't want that to happen here...

From a personal point of view i like these cameras they move trouble away from areas in my experience . In England we have alot of trouble with gangs of teenagers and when they put security cameras up it leads to more convictions for assault and affray and then eventually moves trouble away from the area ..If your doing nothing wrong what have you to fear from being watched ?

^^I think there is a difference between surveillance when you are out in the open, in public, and surveillance of you when you believe you are in private. If I choose to do my thing in the middle of Times Square, I can't really get upset if someone is watching and paying attention, because I have no reasonable expectation of privacy under those circumstances. On the other hand, when I'm in my home, I don't want the government poking cameras and wiretaps in there.

To be honest i dread thinking that i may get done for illegal music downloading ( though i have cleaned my act up alot recently ) but if they get me it will be a fair cop and i would deserve to be prosectued . It won't be the goverment that comes looking for me though through various means of espionage and hi tech tracking it will be some music company .. The authoraties we are talking about in this thread will only be interested in arms dealers , bigtime drug dealers , terroists , political extremist groups and other such scum . Me , you and 99.999% of the population will have nothing to fear
