i hear ya jeff. rent is outrageous. and pickle i know exactly what the money can get you in KC. both KC and Houston are always in the list as cities with the best value for the money. but i have been traveling the world with either college or now the job and i can't see myself settling anywhere yet. i am a huge fan of cities in general, and really like to see how they work and how the people get along in them. i have had many adventures that i could never imagine happening if i stayed back home in KC. one thing is for sure though, once i am ready to start a family it is time to head back to KC or somewhere where the cost of living won't kill you.
my slightly younger brother puts the cost of living in a fairly simple comparison. for the difference in my rent from his rent he could afford to fly to NYC ever month.
