saw it today, just an awesome movie... will hopefully be seeing it again soon.

7 freakin previews before the movie... was quite overkill imo.

only negatives: the batman voice was kind of annoying... there were a couple of times where i had to really pay attention to hear what he was saying.

the girl in it was ugly as sin... reminded me of Sloth from the goonies. major let down from katie holmes.

Does anyone know if Nolan is planning on continuing his version of the Batman series?

I would love it if he did. It's such a shame that it won't be with Heath Ledger though.

You can't have manslaughter without laughter.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."

Thoughts on the next bad guy?

                    Riddler perhaps?

edit: Actually forget I even asked, I need to enjoy this one a little while longer before even thinking about Batman 3.

                      Re: Batman: The Dark Knight

                      OMFG

Kevin Smith wasn't kidding when he said this was the Godfather of comic book movies. I tried to downplay the expectations after reading all the reveiws here, but Heath Ledger really did steal the movie.

It's like Bale showing his intense fucked up psycho Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins, Ledger showed the casual craziness of the Joker but made it look so disturbingly normal. Ledger didn't make the Joker wide-eyed psycho crazy but more like hapless twitchy dont-know-when-he'll-bite crazy Never pictured the Joker like that but Ledger made it so 'right.' That scene when he walked out of the hospital in that nurse uniform Man Ledger did for the Joker what Frank Miller did for Batman.

Bale (and the Batman's voice sucked) kinda just faded into the background in this film, it's all about Joker and Harvey Dent.

Either I'm delusional or Nolan just brought this superhero shit to a whole new level (and I think there was a mix of the Dark Knight, No Man's Land, and maybe the Killing Joke in the movie). He made it believable, none of the flashy glossed candy Spiderman crap. You really think it's normal for some guy to run off the building in a bat suit and glide in the air like a bat

Think Nolan should leave this and not do another one, this instalment is too epic. And with the Joker 'gone,' I can't imagine another villain to give the same intense storyline. Maybe Two-Face.

just got back...what a film. heath ledger left the world too early...can only imagine what his career would have had in store. truly an oscar-worthy performance, and from the hype he may just get it.

fking awesome movie. not much to say about it that hasn't been said, except that i love maggie gilenhall. agreed that batman's voice this time was a little much, but it didn't take away from the movie. think i'm going to go see it again on imax this week.
