    TRENDROID
    feat. Matt Edwards
    (transport 6, kinetic, renaissance)

For Pankaj & Matt Edwards (aka Trendroid/Brick City/PM Player) it?s been a dizzying climb up the dance music ranks. It was only four years ago that the legendary NYC club Twilo signed them as the debut artists for their new label. And it's only gotten better for them on the international scene. Trendroid's unique and futuristic style of house music is frequently described as ?the sound of the UK with the attitude and energy of NYC.?

The duo met as first year medical students where they discovered their similar taste in music, influenced by the local scene in New York City in the 1990's. It was an era of creativity, color and eclecticism. The days of NASA, Disco 2000, and Club USA left a strong imprint on them, and they took away from that culture a respect for diversity and forward thinking.

Drawing from these and other influences, they soon got into the studio and wrote their first tracks, "Ignition" and "Hausjam". Twilo used this record as their debut single, and things started snowballing from there.

Pankaj & Matt?s demand as DJs steadily grew, but it was after Kinetic Records chose Trendroid to mix Transport 6 that they became the newest players on the international scene of headlining djs.

Later, original tracks like ?Trendication? on Twisted, ?4 Corners? on FUJU, and the recently released ?Rastafari? on Renaissance becoming landmark tracks. X-press 2 recently asked Trendroid to remix their classic song ?Smoke Machine? for Skint Records.

Other remixes have included Superchumbo?s ?Revolution?, Murk?s ?Dark Beat?, and artists as diverse as Jam & Spoon to pop star Mandy Moore. Their tracks have been licensed to the prestigious Cream and Global Underground compilations, among others. It did not take long for their skills to be noticed by top DJ's of all genres, including Deep Dish, Steve Lawler, and Junior Sanchez.

Whether its underground club tracks or filtered vocal projects, 2004 will demonstrate even further their broad take on house music. Upcoming releases and collaborations will be with Roger Sanchez and Stealth Records. And perhaps their most far reaching & exciting work thus far, ?Rumba Magic? (done under the Brick City alias) caused a massive stir at the 2004 WMC. With multiple Radio 1 plays, confirmed top 20 hype chart placement, and huge support from Carl Cox, Darren Emerson, and dozens of others, it is the type of latin house bomb that cuts through genre barriers and reflects their continued commitment to diversity.
