Haven't spoken to Kristof for a year or something. I think he isn't into prog either anymore and moved on to other styles (that's the last thing I know from him).

Recently, I'm going out to dark electro/goth parties (not that I'm dressed in black leader suits hehe). There's quite some good music out there to be honest. Dairy of dreams, Angels of Agony ... I prefer it above the current prog . I've even started up my dark electro band again and on 17/02/06, we have our first show.

If there's time left, I'll take up my prog project again as well (my last tracks were the ones I posted here a year ago or something).

actualy chem, his last time out at crobar he went with CDs for awhile and honestly, the sasha magic from twilo atmosphere returned. he is still an amazing DJ, but when on that fucking computer he loses something. i saw him monthly last year and monthly back when and he is 100% better when actually mixing, not hitting the studder button to a tiefscwartz remix and dumping in another drum pattern. it is not as good IMO>

        LOL

just because i ripped your favorite dj that you hold in a god like status doesn't mean you needed to take that personally. in 6 months time if all the dj's i enjoy are using ableton, i don't know what i'd do. im allowed my personal views towards ableton when its used live at a club. i just dont feel it. most people wouldnt either if it wasn;t sasha the one doing it. if sasha was still spinning vinyl and digweed used ableton, everyone would rip digweed for it, so whats the difference. sasha has done so many questionable things over his career so dont be shocked that someone doesn't gve a shit about him. i havent been a fan of sasha long before i joined this message board. so dont patronize me with this whole "hating sasha is cool". and it's not hate, its just apathy. the one word that always comes to mind when i hear his name is overrated.

and i def dont fill every thread with anti sasha thoughts because theres really no point disagree with sasha's fan club. it was just refreshing to hear someone else didn't buy into all the hype around the cute little maven and all of that. so i dont know where you got that from.

              yeah i love Sasha

i have to say that of all the times i've seen Sasha, the best set i ever heard was at Fabric last July, what he did with Ableton was simply amazing, Sasha's only low point was circa 2000-2002 imo, since hes been using Ableton he's just been on fire, but horses for courses and all that...

If Digweed was doing it everyone would kiss his ass but Digweed is too much of a safe player to do something as radical as ditching vinyl and cd's, thats why Sasha is still Number 1, cause he has the vision to compliment the raw talent, i've been into Sasha for a long time and i constantly hear people tell me he's shit then a few years later when they realise just what he's about then say "yeah, i was into Sasha waaay back in the day" The man is a legend and dance music owes him a LOT

does sasha still res @ crobar, or anywhere in nyc? does he strictly use the maven everywhere or does he sometimes still mix vinyl/cds at certain spots WITHOUT the maven?

Does anyone else think we analyse this stuff too much???

FFS - when I'm in a club i'm dancing if the music is good, or I'm finding a different room if it isn't - I don't go to clubs where I know I wont like the music. Tunes are tunes no matter what bloody genre they are in! Personally i think all the Tiefschwarz electro stuff is utter garbage, doesnt inspire me at all, but I also think their mix of 'electromagnetic' is very good.

If I ever had the chance to play a 10 hour set you can bet your bottom dollar it would incorporate every style of house music out there!

In answer to the sasha bashing - I've only heard one set of his using ableton - that was his EM which I thought was stellar - can you honestly tell me that jori hulkonnen-lo fiction isnt a tune?Have you heard the original of it - if not listen to it and you will see what sasha did to it with ableton.

In answer to who is good at the moment I would say check out:

                              Luke Morrison

                              Olli S

                              Spesh

I have been very impressed with these guys recent sets.

i actually think it's quite an exciting time for "progressive". a lot more styles are being incorporated, and if zabiela's ableton mix is anything to go by, bring on more ableton! there's so much potential there.

just because the djs you've listened to in the past aren't playing exactly the same style of music doesn't mean others aren't.

and who can honestly say that they themselves have stuck rigidly listening to the same style of music for years? i think that's boring, personally.
