I gotta agree...He came out with that 5 or 6 hour mix...and id hate to say it but i really didnt enjoy it at all....

he was on another level and so unique wen i first heard him....wish he would get back the original style again. he barley plays the killer breakbeat stuff anymore.

Till this day I can't get into his Bedrock album. Not to say It wasn't good, just too future for me.I did like that recent promo he had up on his site though.

Progressive is the state of mind DJ.

Its not a good label for a genre. Calling a genre "Progressive" makes very little sense to me. However, labeling a DJ Progressive makes sense.

This sums it up nicely. Prog is the melting pot of house music.

Also I'd like to add that this is a changing of the guard with the DJs. Many of the established names are spinning off onto tangents as they have exhuasted their interest in the traditional prog sound, while the up and comers have taken the batton a continued where Diggers, Sander, et al have left off.

And i totally know what you're saying. I hear songs mixed together, and less a journey than the old sound did.
But i find the music picking up a bit tho recently. if you look past the old names and search a little.
Hi Immadic, how ya doin? I'll try to pass along here more than I've been doing last year. And maybe going out in the scene again, because I believe I did only 2 prog parties last year

In the meanwhile, I'll take up my producing work again as well, both my dark electro band, and my own prog project.

Hey, thanks Kinetic. I?m not really sure if that's progressive and well... I have to admit that it is not that easy to decide where should I put the tracks on the stores. In fact I guess that's the only moment when I use these definitions.

I really don't have an intention to do progressive, tech, acid or electro. I just do what my inspiration takes me too and if I get goose bumps, or if I can't stop moving my head... then that's good.

IMO: instead of sittting around and bitching about it.. its time to do something about it and make it change.
there's been discussions on weather prog is dead or not, we'll i will leave that alone but i will tell you what IS dead - and that's tribal. rightfully so.

is it the djs....or the producers that changed direction? the dj's are just playing the cd-rs that they get in the mail.

                              unrelated rant:
a lot of people seem to feel qualified to tell everyone else how everything non prog sucks. well, considering these people have NEVER ventured outside of the ever shrinking prog scene. would you guys take someone seriously who only listened to oakenfold, or avb? no, you would laugh and tell them they didn't know shit because they only participated in a tiny part of the music spectrum. well...wtf is the difference? because you just started listening to hernan metrodance sets last year all of a sudden makes you Mr. Allknowingelectronicmusicperson. when you hear the word progressive, narrowminded isn't the first word that comes to mind...so why is that the mindset of the scene?

I must agree with you man! There are a lot of new and old djs/producers who are still spinning and producing progressive. (Dj Tarkan, Snake Sedrick, Dj Gurdag, RPO, J&S Project, G-Pal, V-Sag,........)
