Something about seeing an 8yr old girl firing a fucking machine gun seems real scary to me..... fully automatic weapons go far beyond the right to bear arms.

im all about gun safety for children too. my dad took me out and showed me how to use a gun (ruger .22) when i was 10 or 11, and you know what, i'd do it with my children too. if you teach your child gun safety (obviously something more practical than a .50cal machine gun) your kid will not only be the coolest kid in class, but he'll be able to disarm a loaded pistol before his or her buddy shoots another friend in the face with a " but it was unloaded" gun.

The problem I have though is that YOU are a normal sane person who is mentally in balance, but a lot of people aren't. And they can get their hands on guns too, and might become unguided projectiles with them. In such a case, I'll play safe and withdraw the right to bear arms, simply to protect the common man from the crazy one, since obviously the common man should not have to be alert all the time for those fruitcakes.
I think it would make the streets safer.

Another possibility is to change the law such that it keeps guns out of the public domain: you can keep them inside your house, or inside the shop for protection, not outside. That would emphasize the defensive nature of owning them, because in my book when you take your weapon outside, you're taking and offensive attitude: you might use it a lot sooner in the heat of the moment, when if you have to go and get it, you might just come back to you senses while getting it.

It's those emotion-driven killings that need to be stopped for one, and when bearing arms on the streets is illegal the police can much sooner act against gang members or potential robbers that carry them on the streets. Just a thought for a middleway solution....

Anyone ever see any videos of the middle eastern folks all happy and celebrating shooting off automatic weapons into the air? Wonder where those bullets go? Stupid people do not need weapons.
I stand behind this countries choice and still believe this is a great country, like any of you would and should stand behind your countries system. Now is there room for improvment? Indeed but as a race of people we are far removed from global harmony and it is not just America.
I was six years old when I learned how to fire a shotgun and respected weapons since. (knocked me on my ass) I enjoy shooting at targets and am talented, sad to say, but I do not own a weapon nor will I, it only invites possible danger, trouble and death, but in this country it is my right if I so choose and that is what makes America, America. Go Team!

I think every other nation should enforce a drinking age at 21. it made sense in the 1700s to allow people under 21 to drink, but today it's just an excuse for drunken children to run amuck.

You should see how it goes down here in Austria you can start drinking at 16 but most start at 14.
