    Set linking and rating

FAO Anyone that downloads sets here!

If you listen to a set, please try to rate the set with the 'Rate this Thread' option above the first post of each page of the thread. This rating will be displayed on the forum index, and will help others determine if they should download the set.

Things to consider when rating a thread:
    • Don't rate a mix that you made. It's biased... let the community rate it.
    • Don't rate a mix that is of a genre you don't like. e.g, it may be a great techno mix but you gave it a bad rating because it's trance.
    • When rating, factor in mixing quality, track selection, and sound levels/sound quality. Nobody wants a set recorded at 56k with loud voiceovers.
    • Rate a set even if it has been rated. The more ratings that appear, the more accurate it'll be!
    • Remember that a 3 is still an "average" set...don't throw 4s or 5s around unless it deserves it! I'm guessing most sets posted will be average or just above it. We don't want to saturate the board with all 5 ratings, otherwise a 5 won't mean anything!
    • Don't be afraid to rate a set! It's anonymous (I think )
this forum already kicks ass thanks to everyone's hard work... now let's kick things up a notch by rating the sets!

Please respect the hard work that people put into their own sites.

If you have a promo set from someone that they've posted on GU or something, that's a different story...

Every topic where direct links are posted without the author making it clear that he´s authorized to post them will be just deleted without further comments and people who post two times direct links will be banned from the member set and recommendations forum which means they can no longer browse this section at all.

All i'm saying is, be respectful, give credit where credit is due.

    Cheers.

sounds like a good plan, and it requires no additional work for the [ms] team.

maybe its too good an idea? pickle must be sick or something.

I'm giving most sets a 3 unless they blow me away. Don't over-rate these things A 3 is still an "average" set and would be on par with most others in the forum... I'm guessing most sets posted will be average or just above it. We don't want to saturate the board with all 5 ratings, otherwise a 5 won't mean anything

seems like everybody's rating nearly every thread as excellent

we have a 1-5 scale here... I guarantee these sets aren't 4s and 5s! I'm downloading them and am hearings 1s/2s imo

the whole idea was trying to use some features that were already implemented... I agree though. we need a 10 scale

since there are no mixes being available in this thread i give it a 1.

I love how the index is full of 5s. I'm downloading half of these and am finding them to be 2s or 3s imo

I think people are only voting if they like the set... if they don't they aren't voting. BAD! BAD MEMBERS! *squirts with water bottle*
