thought CD1 was impressive; not as great as duckwater drive or GTDJ001 but a really enjoyable ride. glad to see he's eased up just a bit on the compulsive need to scratch over the top of every second of every track.
CD2 was a bit of a disappointment IMO - never really felt the payoff.
i loved disc 2, . disc 1 was also cool but 2 was more to my specific taste. I prefer james' cd's to his live sets because he puts a lot more thought into programming and less emphasis on the scratching. After all i'm gonna buy it for the tunes!
Bought my copy of Juno last week and listened to it on the drive down to Chicago before catching him live... Si Begg- Gangsta is def hot shit... Love the in-depth explanation of the mixing... CD easily is one of the best this year.....
Incredible, simply incredible. Now I know exactly what 3 CDJ1000's and a mixer can do. Can you believe it??? His mash-up of Rob Mello and Underworld's Dark & Long was done live!! I love the concept of this album. Inside the liner notes, James gives a summary of every trick, edit, loop, and FX he uses. James held back on the scratching this time around, too much on Sound In Motion and not enough on Alive. Tracks were once again only ok as a whole. The ones that did stand out kick ass though!!
