Your favorite intro track to a set ever?!

For me it must be the 2004 Sumsonic release "Invisible Inc - Stars (Ambient Mix)"

Sasha opened up every set with this gem back in late 2003 early 2004.

    What's your favorite?

not my favorite track opening track but definitely the one I was most surprised to hear, back in 2001 - 2002, I heard DJ Alexis (I think) open up one of his sets with an instrumental track from an Indian movie.... just blew me away to hear it

I hate bringing this up, but when i saw judge jules awhile back and he opened up his set with fatboy slim "bird of prey" i just about lost my mind.

Oakenfold played UNKLE reign (false prophet mix) to open up his set after Cattaneo this year. That was a great opener and also just happened to be my cue to leave also!

                Lets see here...

                Sander K essential mixes 2001 & 2003. = intro's
Deep Dish Essential mix 1998 = Sanasol - Seveneleven
Deep Dish Kiss set = Weekend World - The word
Oakenfold - '99 world tour = all of them.

that's all I got for now.

it's quiet now and as i think my thoughts alone
i'm trying to keep my head straight but i think i'm too far gone
for in the silence, the truth rings even louder
a constant grinding begging recognition of it's power
through its eyes i take the trip, destiny: the place
of pain and pleasure absolute where sorrow has a face
a place of time where spirit asks to stand and hold its ground
has lost its equilibrium and is slowly sinking down
down into the darkness that the lack of will affords
down into the shadows past the junkies past the whores
down into the mire suffocating all that lives
but if i say "i care" i lie for i have no more left to give
well i suppose a hand would help oh yeah, there's no one here
if that's what i wanted, once again my greatest fear
i just long to hear a bird's song, just to let me know there's light
for as we all know a song bird never sings its song at night
                    but it's quiet now

ditto on seveneleven and sander's emix. it's too bad the rest of that oneiro track isn't as good as the intro, haha

i can't pick a clear favorite out of all the awesome mix intros i've heard, but here are some i can think of:

i:cube - vacuum jackers (maurice fulton remix) - sean cusick's 2004 kiss mix
                        monolake - ice - sean cusick's 2001 kiss mix
killing joke - millenium - andrew weatherall's 1993 essential mix
conoco - keppi - andrew weatherall's blood sugar mix 5

parks & wilson's emix from 2000 probably has the best intro out of any set i've heard, but it's kind of two tracks:

Jin Long Uen - "Bow To Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva"
                        Tilt - "The Dragon"

Luke Fair's spring promo 2004. Still don't know the name for that opening track but it grabbed me from the first 3 notes.

DB Boulevard-Hard Frequency (Megahertz Club Mix) ..... Great track

Another great intro was a Sasha Moonpark Mix (5-4-03). He opened up with....Homegrown (James Zabiela Mix).. then played multiple samples of cloud cuckoo.. amazing
