This week we have a special in-house treat for you guys. [ms] moderator Phil Martinez and his production partner Shawn Luke, collectively known as Aural Satisfaction, recently put together a mix that is, in my opinion, a fantastic ride through the depths of some of the best music out there. Put another way, their selection and programming is just spot on and it begs the question of why haven't we hosted one of Phil's mixes in the past. Make sure to catch Phil this Friday night when he opens up for Son of the Electric Ghost at Mell's Beauty Bar in Minneapolis. Having played alongside the likes of Zabiela, Holden, Mazi, K-Swing, Nigel Richards, and Baby Anne just to name a few, you guys will finally be able to hear what they already know...that Phil Martinez knows how to put together amazing music into an equally amazing mix. Thanks for thinking of us Phil and allowing us to host this!
Some info on Phil's studio partner: Shawn Luke has been involved with electronic music since '96, since then he's distributed, mixed, remixed and produced tracks under various guises. Last year Shawn had 2 remixes of Habersham's "Gently Shifting People" released on CPR Digital. He is also diligently working on a 'Postal Service' cross-over project called Studio Monks (more info at studiomonks.com). On the decks Shawn's played alongside some of the largest names in dance music including Carl Cox and Paul Oakenfold at Area One, where he was handpicked to open for the Minneapolis / Saint Paul tour date.
We're also sharing Part 2 of the Demi set from System Soundbar in Toronto. Thanks again to barneyillfingas for passing this gem along!
