Re: acoustic Treatment for a home studio
a lot of different methods to pull of sound isolation. could possibly cost a lot of money as well. your best bet is to look for porus materials that you can easily attach and detach from the walls without messing up the walls. the porus materials will obsorb some of the sound and not bounce it back nearly as much as a typical drywall wall. a cheap solution might be carpet samples or carpet tiles that can usually be found fairly cheaply. the main problem you will always run into and it is stated in the article as well is any openings in the room. windows and doors will always allow more sound than a standard wall, and they are hard to soundproof without sealing yourself up within the room. even a little can go a long way if you are looking to get rid of echo in a room you wouldn't even have to cover all of every wall, but the more you have covered the better it should be.once upon a time, machines were mice, and men were lions. now that its the opposite, it's twice upon a time

This is my 10'x10' studio.. Auralex on the side walls at monitor height, auralex on the ceiling directly above me, bass traps in front and rear corners, auralex monitor pads and two auralex panels (not scene) for recording vocals in a corner. All together it cost around $300 bucks at a marrs music going out of business sale.... made a HUGE difference...

Re: acoustic Treatment for a home studio
there is some stuff that you can buy that looks like a bunch of yellow pulp in sheets at Home Depot that can do a good job at soundproofing a space. It's not too good to look at but it's cheap and it'll do the job. I know from first hand experience with a band I played with.Comment

Re: acoustic Treatment for a home studio
Stumbled upon a place in town today with some surplus Auralex. I don't think they know exactly what it is (at least the teenager working didn't).... Not sure how much they have but I can probably get it fairly cheap if anyone is interested...."only dead fish swim with the stream..." Malcolm Muggeridge
