yea defo use one ear. i feelt at first 2 cans was better, but then realized it was just holding me back. the best way is to force yourself to use one ear, then once you "get it" it is soo much better that way...

One ear with both tracks in the headphones, unless the system is really loud.

Palmer doesn't mix as far as I know.

Addition to my previous post: I do have only one ear in the cup, but i usually have the record playing over the system also slighty in the cue mix (i can mix gradually from cue to mix on my mixer). Maybe 20%, but i helps me keep the beats matched.

1 ear mostly except when playing out. Some of the clubs here have the monitors placed too far out so you get a delay which can throw you off. Better to use 2 in that case.

Re: mixing with cue or one ear..

I started out using two ears as well. Then somebody told me that certain mixers only allow split cue (i.e. Rane), and at that point I switched to one ear. It takes a while to get good at and depending on your monitors might be difficult to do. Just force yourself to do it, I promise it will be frustarating at first.

Just played last night and really used both earpieces for pretty much the whole night. Kinda reminded me of when I was in my room. My mixing was great too!

it the depends on the monitors im using to mix, if its a good quality monitor i do one ear, if not, then both.
