That is why soulseek has lasted for so long. So much of the stuff to share on there is not copyrighted.

Keep yourself to a select number of people you get files from and don't let anyone outside of that click see anything on your computer and you'll be fine.

as long as you stay away from kazaa and the like and don't share pop music i don't think you're in trouble.
And i don't know how it is like in the UK but dj sets are illegal too over here. You can't even share the ones you made yourselves.

Can someone who knows clarify? I am under the impression that downloading anything, regardless of whether its copywrited or protected is not illegal, its sharing the material thats a against the law. All the people fined were sharing copy writed music correct? Thus, we should all be able to download K-feds masterpiece worry free right?

This is a good point. That's what I've always thought. It's not about d/ing but sharing. We might need some lawyer to help us out, anyone?

" According to the court's ruling in The Recording Industry Association of America v. Verizon Internet Services, entertainment companies the right to get an individual's name, address and phone number if they have evidence he or she is using the Internet to get or pass on their copyrighted works. They can then use this information to pursue legal action against those who download or upload the illegally obtained music files. "
