    firefox help

something odd happened with firefox. i closed the browser while working in another program for work. when i went to reopen firefox, it said default user already in use. so i had to create a new user "user 2" to open the browser. when i opened under "User2", all of my bookmarks are gone, and it's like i'm using it for the first time.

does anyone know how to change users? i rebooted my computer and it's still using "User 2" and i need to go back to the "default user." I can't find this option for the life of me.

    Re: firefox help

I've had this issue as well. Except i've always been able to revert back to the original profile after a restart. It seemed to occur often when i was viewing web pages with java script. have you upgraded to the newest version of firefox? it doesn't happen as much since i did.

            Re: firefox help

You can find your bookmarks by browsing to
            C:\Documents and Settings\"Your Profile"\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
The "Your Profile" folder is the name of the profile you use on the pc. All of your settings will be in the profiles folder. Just copy and paste into your new firefox profile, you should be able to grab the cookie.txt as well. I use a program called MozBackup which works wonders to backup my profile and restore it... http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/
As far as switching back to the default profile, I have no idea. But I had to do this for my brother and it worked.

i did this, and it's still not showing my old bookmarks.

i can go into that folder and find the bookmarks html doc, and when i click that, it shows all my old bookmarks.

how can i just get my bookmarks back. when i try to import, it only lets me import from internet explorer.

i copied and pasted and now both profiles contain the same info, but...nothing is happening.

excuse the ignorant questions if they are in fact ignorant, but the extent of my computer repair knowledge is ctrl alt del.
