hip hop and classic rock WTF?

ok so there is this new trend here in las vegas , all the clubs do it. they play hip hop (almost all the clubs here just play hip hop), and then the dj will play a couple of classic rock songs, usually ac/dc, gnr , lenard skynard, etc..... some hip hop songs are remixes of these songs ..i guess they call it mash up.
what is going on? is this the future of clubbing?
is this happening anywhere else? it's a vegas turist thing huh?

guess you just have a wide range of clubbers out there.
dj's are trying to appeal to the masses, be it shit or actual music.
go to a different bar/club i suppose.

I've seen this before, its not pretty. Usually its in the really shitty bars that turn into clubs for the weekends, but I have seen it in actual nightclubs too. Don't worry though its not going anywhere.

i've been to the one in orlando , this one is more of an ultralounge and pretty much one of the places that plays house only a couple of night a week..... but they gave into the cheese a couple of nights a week

Hip-hop culture has certainly had a big influence on UK clubs

Its cool, very different night out to progressive house

when I went to Dubai the DJ played both, which you would think would
be crap but for me the energy was incredible!!

It does suck when all clubs in a town follow each other
