here comes the sun part 3

well, here we are a week later, more and more protests, violence, and ,hey what now, attacks on a few embassies. so we have a few building fires, WHO KNEW? (me). the intolerent european and american citizens have been so WRONG in thier opinions of a quote un quote violent society building in the middle east. hey, Mr. Pres. Comm in cheif Bush said the other day ""they are a society of peace and compassion"".

well no we officially have assaults and incursion on foreign soil by the peoples, on top of death threats, kidnapping and state sponsored arrest of the pakistani editor. a few threats to european soil from leaders, militants and heck, the people themselves. a public call for revenge against 3 countries has been made.

whew. wow,. all in 5 days. im not one play kresken, but ill predict a long shot.""it wont get better next week""/

what responses will come from europe? will they play soft? will they negotiate? will they hit back??\

this will be the first war in a few centuries that might actually not be started by a government of a leader, but by the people themselves. when will the european citizen grow tired of the intolerent, violent, defiant, close minded ideals of the ""stereotypical middle eastern country""

boy who ever thought that the israeli , palestinian thing might be nothing much>?

I don't understand why they don't start shooting when riots happen at the embassies.. call me crazy but if a riot came to my home at least 50 would be going home in a bag..

These last couple of weeks have been very revealing. First, Hamas is elected into power and then Muslim countries going crazy over a blasphemous cartoon. Bush didn't cause the problems in the Middle East. They've always been there -- intolerant religious views, cruel violence, and hatred of Israel and the West.

I say, the moment they start rioting on European soil over this, they're officially enemies of the constitution and we put the baton on their kneecaps. Tolerance is all fine, but i demand some fucking respect for my views and values in return after I show it to them.

In the end, if Europe should ever reach the point of 'enough' and they decide to kick back, I hope they do it good. It's usually the ones that take the longest to lose their temper that go really berserk, more than anyone else. I'm so hoping for that...

Radical cleric Omar Bakri Mohammed told Radio 4's Today programme that in Islam, whoever insulted a prophet must be "punished and executed". "We are not saying ourselves to go there and start to look to him and kill him, we are not talking about that. We are talking about Islamic rules. If anybody insults the prophet, he will have to take a punishment," he said.
THIS is the problem. they have an idea, one that is based on thier own beliefs, that the religious law is Above all other law. it comes from years of ayatollas, imams, and shiara. sickening. like toasty with bush, i am following a similar trend with the middle east. for awhile i gave it a shot, but the people have done NOTHING to begin to convince me otherwise. this cleric has literally just veiled himself and made a public call to muslims to kill a cartoonists !!! jeez. the world is fucked and the problem is a big one. time for a crusade

                lol

It's not stopping either, the riots. Maybe we're in for WW III after all. We can't carry any guns here, but I do own a really sharp and ready-to-go machete, of which the grip has even been covered with tennisracket grip rubber for a comfy hold. I'll be in charge realtiatory beheadings.

Okay, that last thing was a joke, but i'm seriously wonding how far this will go. The Muslim states' govts are trying to calm them down by publicly condemning the cartoons and take the wind out of the extremists' sails, but will there be a moment that they cannot be controlled anymore?

Apart from that: Iran has cut it's diplomatic and economic ties with Denmark. Time for a lot of countries to cut their ties with Iran in response. What the feck is Europe letting itself be victimized again? Show some balls, show where you stand first. I'm missing the goddamn backup for Denmark here, the public outcry, the governments here saying they think freedom of speech is an inalienable right to the people here and that no-one is to touch that in any of the European countries. If Extremist Islamist win, it is because over here people were too fucking lame to show some solidarity with each other. I hate this attitude.

I agree yao that somebody should step in here and support the dane's.. maybe canada will have the balls now that Harper is in Government. this would be his big chance to gain more backing from the USA..

Re: here comes the sun part 3

I think what this whole situation shows is not only the major differences in worldview between Islamic society and the west but also how little provocation it takes to spur violent outbreaks in the Islamic world. However offensive a cartoon is, it can't justify attacks and protests such as these. And what this means is (what everyone knows but some people are forgetting) that the protests do not have their genesis in political cartoons. Obviously, extremists use such publications as justification for their hatred for the west; without the extremists, such publications would probably be condemned but not violently protested. The cartoons represent the ultimate scorn for Islamic society that the west displays. Unfortunately, it is precisely because of the type of reaction that the cartoons caused that the west has such scorn: violent protests over (what we view as) trivial political discourse?? Indeed, I believe both east and west would be brought together by an impassivity of Islam toward the publications; as it is in reality, the reaction of the protesters has further divided our societies.

I understand the frustration felt because I feel it too, but we have to be smart and realistic in our policy. I say, fuck the oil, and getdafuckouttathere. It's pure hubris for us to think we can fix the problems in that neighborhood, like Gargamel trying to settle a dispute amongst the Smurfs.

Oh yeah by the way: you protesters are a bunch of babies. grow up.

All of this just goes to show...calling for someone to be killed over a FUCKING CARTOON!!!! Ok, look here...no one cares about your fucked up religious beliefs...I would jack the prophet Mohammed in his fucking jaw if I ever saw him in person.

Say all that you want about America...not one single, solitary American is calling for the death of a Muslim for all the American flags they've burned, now are we?? It's all coming to light now. The hatred and violence that Islam teachs and encourages is about to be on display for all the world to see. Maybe this will help turn the tides in this war on terro...I mean, war on radical Islam.

Any display of the prophet is illegal according to Muslims, and that's the issue of debate. That means no art, sculptures, etc... that depict the prophet. It's easy for all of us living on the green-grass side of the fence to just say that they're morons. This has only shown that the Danes didn't do their homework before publishing this cartoon. I'm all for freedom of the press and speech, but there's that thing that our Justices hold as Time, Place, and Manner, and those cartoons were certainly breaking it. As long as our hands are down the pants of the midde easterners, we will always have unrest. This should be a wake up call to countries that sometimes you just have to draw the line because the results prove to be more harmful then expected.
