I totaly agree Sasha was off the hook in 90's twillo. Now he lost it, earth to Sasha come back! The DJ thats hot right now is Cattaneo. He is very much what sasha used to be in Twillo power days, Im going to see him in Crobar nyc on mar 17.

Wtf is up with all these people so called bashing Sasha.Maybe hes not like he was in the 90's for a reason..umm its 2006 people.Times have changed and so has the music.Imagine Sasha still playing the same music now that he was in the 90's.Imo that would be pretty boring.Like everyone else said if you dont like his style now move on.theres a bazillion other DJs on this planet you cant get into.

Agreed. And you touch on a great point. Most of the negative comments I read are pining for the good old days of Twilo. Rookies... Sasha has been my favorite DJ since I saw him at Roxy in 1994, a solid 4 years into his career, a solid 3 years before they started calling Sound Factory "Twilo." So hop on the bandwagon, hop off, whatever. We will be here forever, do you understand? Stay in that moment in time, the beat goes on...............

, i said what? i my story didn't go quite like that. i like the direction that sasha is taking. if anything he is working harder during the set creating sounds through the computer that we will actually hear. this, instead of spending so much time queing up the next track on the decks. i see that queing time as work but it is never anything that the listener of a live set will ever experience. taking this into consideration i feel that i am listening to a more customized set

here is what i thought was the downfall of the new technology. you watch him dj now is like watching my coworker next to you stare into their computer monitor all day. sure they will look away from the monitor and maybe even interact with you from time to time. i feel the the magic of watching sasha get all giddy or frustrated as he spins a record into the mix is now gone.

i have a mixed feeling overall. i hear everyone say that they shouldn't just go to stare at the dj the whole night, but i do enjoy watching. watching these guys over time helped my understand how they were doing what they were doing as i listened to their cd's for years. now the dj is about as much fun to watch as the guy controling the lights. but imo., if it means that i am hearing a better set, i can learn to live with it.

Isn't that what I just said you told me? One thing I remember most from my early party days is how important the Dj's connection is with the dancefloor. The Dj should set the vibe and make you feel connected. I dont want to learn to live with Sasha having his face buried into a workscreen all night, and of course, I dont want him to be overly animated and start doing Jesus poses like Oakenfold and Teisto. Ive been a fan of Sasha for just as long as many of you....however, if producing a more quality live set requires a controller that takes your concentration away from the people that are paying to come to see you, then maybe I just wont pay the good money to see him anymore. Kinda shitty to say, but we all have wondered and debated where this whole software and digital movement is heading and watching the guy control the lights is not what I want to do with my friday night.

The last couple of live sets I've heard (Annie, and Southfest) have been amazing. He hasn't lost a step musically. Taking the focus off the DJ is a good thing IMO. You know people like Tiesto only get away with their substandard skills because their shows are more about their rock star status than playing innovative, exciting music.

like i said stay home and listen to GU13 again, too many people in the club anyway. his live sets are only getting better and more personalized. sasha still interacts with the crowd. he was clapping along and smiling whenever the crowd was eggin him on at his last nyc show. ya'all's a bunch o drama queens... dear sasha, you've hurt me for the last time.... blah blah blah.... if i were him i would be laughin at you.
