    Re: More cartoon protests

I see things from every perspective but I can't fix the world and its fucked up ways.. It doesn't matter if you are a good person doing missionary work in Iraq they will cut your head off.. because of this thing called religion..I don't like there ways of taking over a government and having Islamic Law.. That's how it is.. so before you come on here and tell me to put myself in thier shoes. I have and guess what everybody goes through shit in this world. .Why haven't the Christians called for the heads of South Park and The Family Guy??
It was a cartoon!! so now the idiots have the right to burn down a couple embassies and sing in the streets?? No. No I dont think so. Something will happen soon.. the Iraq war was a warm up for what Bush is getting ready to do to the whole region..

      Re: More cartoon protests

We got our first protests here today. And of course the fuckwits were allowed. Seriously, I want my govt to crack down hard on those refusing us the right to freedom of speech. This is our country, with our laws.

I really would like to go and see them, and then provoke a little bit. Show em my furry butt or something like that...

I'm becoming a goddamn right-winged fella on some levels of late, lol

        Re: More cartoon protests

I was very surprised at how much this blew up in the affected areas. in fact I was a bit bewildered that it was allowed to happen.

The Islam community really does itself no favours when a small minority of it carries out acts like this.

I live in Luton, UK which has an above average non-British population. There is a whole part of Luton that is solely occupied by 'Asian' people. I have seen religious/cultural friction on the front line here. The 'whites' simply have a problem with accepting the Asians. But in reality i think the real problem is that the Whites believe that the Asians only need one minor thing to be said about them before they will react, all in the name of islam, or religion, or whatever. It appears that it's okay because 'I was offended', or' he was taking th e piss out of my religion. Honestly their attitude really doesnt go anyway to helping.

I remember I applied for a grant to help pay my transport costs when I was at college years ago. I was turned down on the grounds that I wasn't eligible. Then I met an Asian guy at college who lived in the same part of town as me, exactly the same circumstances. he got the grant, and i couldnt help wondering 'was it because they were scared of offending him?'

World is messed up, I am starting to believe that the so called cynics who say that the worlds problems can be blamed on religion are right

I've been saying that for years.

Seriously though, look at all the hatred, division and violence that relgion causes in this world. The whole reason the entire Middle East hates Israel is becasue they are a different religion and stole their "holy" land. Yeah, that is a really good reason to want to "wipe them off the map."

And it really pisses me off that the rest of the world thinks that America is the one with the problem. So what if we are fat and greedy and self-centered and whatever other sterotype you want to label us with. We don't look for ANY reason to riot and kill and destroy and chant "Death to Muslims"..."Death to Arabs"..."Death to all non-Americans", do we?? Name one time that has ever happened. So fuck off with all of their blaming America for everything. This very instance, which we are in no way at fault for, but are still getting blamed for, just goes to show what has been said already...that they hate us and will take ANY and EVERY opportunity to demostrate it...whether we are to blame or not.

Whatever...fuck 'em. Let any of those assholes come over here with that shit and they will see just how fucked up your average American can be. You think beheadings are something?? I'll invent something new for their asses.

            Re: More cartoon protests

reporting here from London. all the muslims are running riot. the bearded ones throughout the city are causing havoc, threatening anyone slightly scandinavian looking. packages of bacon have been contaminated with ground glass and bottles of Carlsberg have been smashed in off-licenses. if you see anyone in a turban with a big bushy beard, please do not approach. they may set fire to you. these people(?) are to be regarded as armed HIGHLY dangerous. they will declare a jihad on you if approached, then you're truly fucked. we have received warnings that the muslim women(?) are also not to be approached. if you see a walking tent alert the authorities immediately - who knows what kind of surface to air missile they may be hiding in there. also violent protests are erupting across the UK. police are issuing citizens with catchy "I am NOT a non-believer" t-shirts.

My Paris, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Berlin correspondents are reporting similar disturbances in their respective regions. Watch out for the muslims, we must join forces in the fight against Islam. (Ed- can you say that??) (Hos- I just did) I have also received reports of a spate of attacks on domestic dogs. Upon closer examination these were found to be Great Danes.

today's news was brought to you by your roving reporter Hos.

The spite really sets you apart my friend from these barbaric insolent people...you need to understand that if something like this happened 5 or 6 years ago there would be no uproar...the muslim community is already under threat and feels insecure with the way things are goin on and have been recently so why then why now...why not EVER before the Holy Prophet for the muslim people and his physical portrayal has never been accepted or promoted in islamic culture and by hose who practice it..his picture is almost non existant and if there are any copies or interpretations of what he looks like they are disregarded by any pure muslim. On the other hand the pictures and physical embodiment of Christ is everywhere and has been for very long. The american and other media sources have repeatdly used it for all sorts of purposes...there is nothing against it infact its cosidered religious to have his picture or cross or whatevr in the house or on you. There isnt really anything that the christians have to rebel against i mean south park and family guy have parrables of islamic people too thats petty stuff....its just that in this climate of so much spite and frustration and misunderstanding this sort of thing is really just uncalled for.... why fuel the fire....be the smarter bigger wiser one you claim to be you know what i mean..i dont mean you in particular so dont get sensitive...plus if you wanna look at christian violence against 'non-believers' look at history...the puritans who formed america and their followers...the native americans...hello?...the aboriginal people of australia..i doubt hitler has a muslim or a jew...i dont wanna get into this childish shit you know..
i respect the fact and agree that the extent and the way the muslim community SEEMS to react is really absurd at times..but remeber destruction of or against property is not violence...and the people who take to the streets and cause this 'havoc' are a minute representative....just cuz the television shows you the images over and over again doesnt necessarilly mean its a very accurate perspective...one of the foundations of islam is modesty..that in terms of moderation in everything you do...what some of these people are doing is against their own religion but it just goes to show how desperate they are to have thier voices heard and for people to recognize and acknowledge what they are saying.....
when your demonstrating against something how can you expect to stick to a topic or keep a particular target in mind and only demostrate that...i mean one has to be bothered about sometihng to decide to spend that energy appealing and demonstrating for it so what if im at a demostration for no hot water (e.g) if i have electricity issues ill freakin shout that out aswell.....america will need time and a bit more to become totally accepted and not suspected by the people from the middle east or whatever that region may be that they occupy and try to control...
i can only hope for peace..cuz thats all i want man...and i know being bitter is not the way..

In which way?? If the cartoons were published 5 or 6 years ago there would be no uproar or if hundreds of thousands of religious zealots took to the streets and started rioting and burning shit there would be none?? Because both cases are wrong.

Local, I have to disagree with this statement partially: a lot of the hatred against the West has been caused by it's mingling in Middle-Eastern affairs, but this is something on a different level. This is about simple cartoons that actually don't mean much to many Western people...it's the culture here mate. Muslims have a right to not like it, but that reaction of protests is really overdone IMO. Suddenly all we can be is evil, I have Muslims on a Dutch forumboard accusing us of everything that is filthy and wrong, and totally ignoring their own brutal actions.

That is why to me these protests seem so out of place...they just don't seem genuine, but more orchestrated to me.
