    just curious ... but what's the common network system does the telco run in the states anyway?? CDMA didnt catch on where im from and i've always been on GSM and its fine for me send text messages from which ever country im at to anywhere else in the world ... i.e london or the states thru my local telco

      Granted, but if you read my first post, you'll see I was with Verizon and just returned the Treo 700w because I cant send Text's to international locations. Plus I dont live in a major metropolitan and so I their new EVDO transfer rates are useless to me.

        CDMA + GSM are in a tie here, i.e. Verizon / Sprint are on CDMA and T-Mo and Cingular are on GSM.

        Verizon hands down has the best network without a doubt, but they are also the most expensive. I need international text messaging a lot so I'm gonna have to make the switch to GSM.
