Hustle & Flow

Just saw this last night. Great movie. As I was watching it, and still now a day later, I'm trying to figure out why it worked so well.

Quick synopsis- DJay a local Tennesse pimp decides to make a change for the better as a rapper. In other words, you've seen this movie a thousand times before. HOWEVER, this one is non cliched and original. It has a very authentic quality and doesn't patronize the subject matters or the viewer.

I think a big part of the success is the performance by Terrance Dashon Howard. This movie kicks the ever living shit out of 8 Mile. Definitely reccomened.

Hustle & Flow was GREAAT!-) I don't like hiphop but while watching this...I really felt like IF a PIMP can do it then there's no Excuse for me to just sit on my ass. 'The New Guy' was unexpected They made making music SO easy...I gotta get off mah ASS =)

absolute peice of shit film, hate to say it. The first tune they made was hot tho. That guy said "man" like a billion times, it wasnt really a pleasure to watch , i just wanted to get the fuck out of there. plus that dude wasnt even a real pimp, he was some pg13 pimp w/ one girl thinking he runs things. But like i said, the first tune they made was hot.

great movie... very good acting and a good script too.. i agree that it beat 8 mile out of the water, although 8 mile had the misfortune of starring eminem... while this had a proper good actor in terrance howard. its hard out here for a pimp.
