If only we could somehow get the Pills to multiply like Rats do in order to do a lot of trials to get to the bottom of this quandry.... I'm willing to volunteer every other weekend so long as I can have the following tuesday off from work

nah, it's because x deteriorates your brain like no other. It leads to schizophrenia (brain scans revealing meth users compared with those of a schizo show extreme similarities) and other detiorations in the brain. In turn, you get reduced motor abilities and future diseases such as Parkinson's at an early age.

that is most definitely not true. the study to which you are refering to was a study on what was *thought* to be mdma, but was mislabeled in the lab and later was discovered to actually be methamphetamine. there has never been a study, ever, that has proved that mdma has any long-term effects on the brain.

I wasn't referring to the study where the mixed up the 10g shipments.

LMFAO, don't be so naive...There have been numerous studies showing detrimental effects of MDMA on the brain. Go to your local university and look up peer-reviewed journals. In fact you can look up the journals online via google. It does in fact deteriorate your brain and it does show long term damage as well as damage to your short-term memory.

^^^ In regards to memory loss, there have been other studies which prove otherwise. As a matter of fact, in the study I'm referring to, the top 3 performers were heavy ecstasy users. I can no longer find the link to that study but here's another one which had similar results:

Researchers Looking for Memory Problems in "Ecstasy" Users Come Up Dry (6/01/03)
In research published this spring in the journal "Cognitive Brain Research" the German government-backed team of Gousoulis-Mayfrank et. al., tested the memory/cognitive performance of heavy and moderate "ecstasy" users vs. non-drug users. The results: Both groups of "ecstasy" users were as mentally sharp as the non-users. In the words of the researchers, "To our surprise, in our study, performance [in the test] revealed no statistically significant group differences[...]" The authors did however note that their tests did not rule out the possibility of impairment in other areas.

Of interest, brain scans taken while the volunteers underwent memory testing suggested small differences in how the "ecstasy" users were using their brains compared to the non-users, leading the authors to speculate that they may be using "different cognitive strategies." These differences did not correspond to the amount of "ecstasy" individuals had used and may reflect underlying demographic differences between people who seek out psychoactive drugs and those that do not. Journal ref: Cognitive Brain Research vol 16 (2003) pgs. 479-489.
And in regards to the "detrimental effects" and "long term damage" you were referring to, again more FUD being spread by our govt. in order to "protect the children".

The most comprehensive studies are being done by the Germans, who are finding that abstaining from the drug for a period of 3 months reverses the damage, almost to the original baseline (typically 97-98% though).

I would be more concerned the the heart damage, which has real potential with heavy users. It has much the same effect that Fen-Phen does on heart valves, but quite as potently as Fen-Phen. In addition you won't be taking E like people were with Fen-Phen (on average 3 times a day).

If you want good information, backed by studies I suggest you check out www.thedea.org. Admittedly(sp?), the guy has a bias for the drug, but at the same time he puts out all the information good and bad.

With that said, I would be interested in seeing the studies you are referring to, got any links?

mdma makes dumb, though it is a nice pleasure from time to time

the problem with drugs is that people who are on will dance to anything.. quality doesn´t really matter. as long as its banging bla.
