    Re: X-Men: The Last Stand

Saw it last night - it was entertaining... but not spectacular.

There was a bit too much cheese. But the cheese was balanced with a few really well put together scenese and ideas.

The part after the credits was cool - worth staying for.
We are the ones we've been waiting for.

I love incimplete ends, it leaves room for your on imagination...

As for a part 4... Well, highly unlikely imo. Haven't seen the movie, but think of how they're gonna call it... "The absolutely really fo' sure LAST stand"?

          Re: X-Men: The Last Stand

There will be another X-men movie, but not necessarily "X-men 4." The Last Stand was the last in this trilogy, the retelling of The Dark Phoenix Saga. Next will come either the Wolverine or Magneto movie. Then a couple years after that a new X-men movie, based on a different era from the comic books. Hopefully something with Apocalypse and (finally) featuring Gambit.

I was disappointed with The last stand. Things happened that never happened in the comics. It's hard explaining without spoiling it for those who did not see it yet, but those who did see it hopefully understand. I thought it was a little too cheesey and the fight scenes weren't even that spectacular. They need to bring back Bryan Singer, the director who did the first two back into this series with his writers, if there is going to be a fourth installment. I know he just did the superman movie, so hopefully that will be better than x-men.

apocalypse would be a sick movie. have him do as they did in the comics and have a really dark violent scene where angel becomes archangel. you could have him infect wolverine with the virus like in the comics..

they need to force integrity to the comics though. already they have at least a dozen ""free creative liscences"" put into the movies. angel was an original. iceman wasnt a kid, beast was there early as well, but just a white boy. pyro was never good. rogue was an adult,

I finally saw it last weekend. I agree it wasn't spectacular. It looked more promising from the trailer. I thought they could have done a better job with phoenix.

I agree that the last fight was pretty damn anti-climatic. Should have been the end of the world, instead it was just like any other movie-ending fight.

Fox Head Tom Rothman has confirmed that there will indeed be an X-Men 4, and probably more after that as well.

I Didnt like it and i loved the Xmen Cartoons so i felt dissapointed, I mean What the hell was with the lack of cyclops in it

I felt it kinda lost itself near the end which was a shame.. Maybe the Wolverine movie will do better.

This wasn't satisfactory at all. The action was so-so; instead, the director gave in to using all the SFX for Phoenix and Magneto. Story sucked as well.

There was no need for Xavier to die, there was no need for Cyclops to die, and there was certainly no need for Jean Grey to die either. The scene in the house with Xavier, Jean and Magneto. It didn't resolve shit and Xavier mumbles a cliche line like "don't let the power control you" and subsquently disintegrates and gets put out of the action for the whole movie?! And then showing up at the END of the movie?! And that bit with Magneto nudging the chess piece with his power ... yeah like we didn't see that coming.

Felt like the whole fucking movie revolved around these losers trying to get over their lovesick for Jean Grey, wtf. First Scotty, then Logan. Fucking lame. And why did "you know I'm the only one who can stop her" Logan have to kill Jean? Why not load her up with the "cure"?

What happened to the cool action sequence? I remember in the previous movie, that short sequence with Nightcrawler kicking ass in the White House. Now that's the kinda cool action I want. Not Wolverine doing his half-ass clawing--just fist himself while he's at it.

There was way too much focus on Wolverine in this movie. Part 2 delved into a bit of his past, which was fine. But this movie was about the lovesick puppy going off on his own for god knows what. X-men is about a team of mutants, which this movie is sorely lacking. There was no team dynamics, not enough interaction between the team members. Everyone was relegated to the sidelines for Wolverine and Phoenix.

It almost felt like the director was trying to one-up Bryan Singer and show everyone how badass he can be. Oooh look at me and my flying bridge, look at me and my disintegrating people, look at me as I kill off Xavier, Cyclops and Phoenix. Fuck off.

As a stand-alone action flick, pass-able. As part 3 of the X-men "trilogy", it was a complete wank. Fucking uncool.

Yep...way too much "tortured love story" and not enough mutant asskickery. Who does this guy think he is coming in and killing off half the cast by the end of the movie??
