Art Museum event gets out of hand.

This made me laugh out loud several times imagining it...imagine this all happening in an stuffy art museum. Wish I was there.

    Some highlights of the article...

The glistening white Santiago Calatrava addition has made the Milwaukee Art Museum one of the city's classiest social addresses. But a recent martini fete held there turned into an overcrowded, drunken affair. Some unruly guests accosted artworks, which have been taken off display for a checkup.

A group of four young men climbed onto "Standing Woman," a tall, bronze sculpture of a goddess-like woman with exaggerated features by early 20th-century American artist Gaston Lachaise."They were standing on it, grabbing the boobs, and somebody was just taking pictures with a cell phone," said Laura Collins, 35.

People threw up, passed out, were injured, got into altercations and climbed onto sculptures at Martinifest, a semi- formal event

A man who got into what Wolfe called a "family feud" with another man jumped from an outside terrace on the south side of the museum, several reported.

"Her arms were slung over them and her feet were dragging, basically," Zarnoth said. "I'd say that was pretty passed out."

"We were sardined in," said Collins, a first-time museum visitor. "People, boy, they wanted their martinis."
It's never too late to become the person you always thought you would be.

Sounds like a typical art opening to me.

Get some culture boy, dont refer to art museums as stuffy.

Wasnt aware that he was doing a residential project in NYC. As far as I knew, he was slated to do the new WTC terminal whenever that project gets off the ground. He is doing a residential project, his first residential high rise, in sweden, call the turning torso....

I was at the met last weekend with my family and saw the exhibit but didnt get the time to take it all in. So fascinating models and designs were on display and I defintely need to get back to take the time to catch the details and read up on it all...

And a great Rauschenberg exhibit too through april.

            MS Met field trip anyone?

^^^Wow, I had no idea. Lower Manhattan would be sweet if it had two Calatrava projects within a few clock of each other. Nice work, although I dont believe its the most contextually correct.

I can take up to 5 guests free to MOMA at any time through work... that would be fun.
