    Bush is Toast

I am happy to report that the days of the Bush administration bullying Congress and generally running roughshod over this country appear to be over.

I'm not suggesting that he's about to be impeached, but his poll numbers have been as low as 34% approval, with disapproval numbers as high as 60% -- the worst of his presidency -- over the last week. We're not too far from the kick-off of mid-term election season (I've already started getting tons of mail from politicians), and house reps and those senators that are up for reelection are going to have to make a decision as to how they are going to run their campaign.

Think the republicans that are running are going to cling to a guy that is nursing a 34% approval rating? Hell no! These folks aren't going to hang their hopes on Bush -- more likely, they'll try to put as much distance between themselves and Bush as possible. Look for Bush to take some pretty serious lumps from his own party this election season.

Right or wrong, it's already starting with this Dubai ports deal -- republicans are pulling away from their president. Perhaps the conservatives will actually reclaim their party, which would be a welcome sight.

This is all just my prediction of course, so take it with a grain of salt. I just want to have been on record saying that the end of the Bush adminstration -- and perhaps the neocon movement -- has begun.

McCain is a statesman. He's the only person i'm voting for in 08 if he gets the nod.

I liked Howard Dean. He is a REAL person. A really excited person at that, but seriously enough with politicians satisfying only their lobbyists. Yeah, it's a pipe dream I realize...
