Re: Chris Fortier
saw him for the first time last weekend. had high high hopes for a night of serious prog action building from the slowest deepest filth but sadly this didnt materialise. he was playing back to back with anthony pappa and was billed for playing an hr on then an hr off, but they ended up tag teaming it and for some reason found the need for banging it out from the start (like peak time...wtf?!?!). Needless to say i didnt hang about much, but yes, the boys compilations and remixes/productions are top notch
One of my favourite tunes to this day is Fade - No ResolveComment

Re: Chris Fortier
I don't know - he used to be such an inspiration to me when he was playing some seriously cool prog. Now I find him a little too electro influenced and I'm just not enjoying his selection that much these days.......

Re: Chris Fortier
Maybe bro. but i guess u gotta move with the times. i am not saying that play whats popular but try check out different styles of music with staying with a unique sound of your own. when i listen to prog these days i am not feeling it as much as i used to. maybe my brain has been infected with this minimal techno/electro sound that has been going on for a while now. i still have my own style though. what i normal do is download sets and listen to them and pick a few tracks that i like. it is very rare that i will like the whole set or should i say 1 out of 3 which i guess is not bad but that leads me to another question. how do u guy's and gals find out bout tracks?
do u go by lables, sets, buzz word etc. usually like i mentioned before i will listen to sets and try hut down the tracks. also is there a good site for finding tracklists besides ms??Comment

Re: Chris Fortier
He's very minimal and techy these days ... not really electro.

Re: Chris Fortier
Got to give him credit for changing his style so much. Compare his first Kiss mix from 2000 with his recent one from 3 weeks ago. I know there is a 6 year gap, but the style of the tracks is so different, yet both sets are top notch.
He really knows how to program a set - his recent Kiss mix is a great example, I am really digging it.
Surprisingly his Balance CD was a little too eclectic for my tastes and I was bored in places, but he's still a top draw DJ.
BTW other sites for tracklists - try www.arts.ualberta.ca/kiss for all Digweed kiss 100 tracklistsComment

Re: Chris Fortier
i havent heard him in ages, but he always seemed pretty good. i liked (a few years ago mind) his unfortunately titled mix cd "tranceamerica" (its not a trance cd, its prog)
he is playing here on saturday, my buddy is opening. i, however, will be up by canada and therefore not in attendance. oh well.Comment
