"What I hate the most is the foreign politics of the United States. This is absolutely too much. It's like a tumor or cancer which humanity is having at the moment. I think it is impossible to get rid of this behavior because it is all about money, so it is very very terrible situation. And if this imperial is going down, then the impression is that they will take the whole world with them, so I'm afraid a little bit about that."

thats why he wont play the us, and i dont think its necessarily because of bush, more the way the us in general treats, and has treated, foreign countries. (please refrain from turning this thread into a political debate all )

if i seriously had the cash, i would bring him over. i doubt villalobos is going to turn down $8,000 and a ton of free acid id hook him up with

i would fly him to chile and he could make the trip up from there, enter in through the mexican border, that shit is WIDE open

It's ironic reading what Ricardo wrote. I was speaking to a British guy here at work the other day about exactly the same thing. He mentioned that the US has lost its spot as the #1 tourist destination among Brits for exactly the same thing - we make it so difficult now for anyone to get into this country. Ridiculous knee-jerk reaction imo.

oh i know it doesnt nessesarily revolve around bush, ive just seen it worded like that in the past. i've also heard stories (rumors, whatever) about a problem his parents had with the US Gov't that seems to strike a more personal chord. although i don't know the story well enough to tell it.

despite his issues with this country, isn't it a bit rediculous for him not even to play conference? he doesn't need to wear an american flag for a shirt, but surely he must realize he does have a fanbase here who couldn't give two shits about the politics involved and just want to hear him play his music. isn't that what it's about?

almost the same thing happened to Jay Tripwire. He wasn't allowed to play in america for over a year, because they caught him bringing in his records to america from canada, and found out he didn't have a work visa and kicked him out.

I was just mentioning that other dj's have had problems coming into the states to play for us.

And that's why I said...almost the same thing.

yes, laurent garnier also had the same problem, and is now boycotting the US i believe.
