I actually missed it -- had something pressing at work at the time. I'll take a look at it over lunch and give you my thoughts.

he did do a good job, no studdering, didnt have to look at the ceiling for a minute to think, didnt say ""uhhhh" at all. but the whole ""i didnt want war "" was BS. he wanted the war, i dont think he would have gone to war, but he wanted into iraq, and the 9/11/terror crusade allowed him the reason.

my only question is why cant he bring up a few generals and lay it out on the table that we cant simply win the war and leave unless we just start killing everyone over there. someone tell hillary and john kerry that the insurgency doesnt wear uniforms and fight in formation. and if we were to do what it takes it would lead us to breaking all modern, post WW2 laws of conflict. i mean we could easily win the war, but we would have to walk through towns like the nazis did and just strart killing people. they are diong the best they can within the allowable laws of wars.

Yeah, I catagorically disagree with the idea that Bush didn't want this war.

I haven't seen it yet, but I did read through the transcript. I have to say, though, I'm really past the point where I can be objective about the guy because I just refuse to believe a word out of his mouth, so I'm prolly the wrong person to offer an opinion. I'm never really sure if it's spin or he's just out of touch, but he seems so disconnected with reality...

Iraq isn't in civil war? Right. The army has stayed together? Well, no shit, it's primarily Shi'ite.

The most troubling thing about the current situation in Iraq is that many analysts have seen it coming a mile away because Iraqis owe more allegiance to their religion than their country. Sunnis, Shi'ites and Kurds all view themselves as Sunnis, Shi'ites and Kurds first, Iraqis second. Since Bush "doesn't do nuance," however, he neglected to consider the ramifications of going into Iraq without a plan to stabilize the region after Saddam fell, taking into account these different factions. I wish Bush had listened to some of the dissenting voices so he could at least plan accordingly, even if he did still go in. Instead, he surrounded himself with yes-men and got us wrapped up in a war he doesn't even fucking understand.
