theres no way to remove vocals from a tune without affecting it, its all about the freq youre gonna remove. U can use filters, eq & all kind of bullshit, but im sure u wont remove the vocal entirely.
Wow! Plenty of information to keep me busy.
Thanks a lot guys!
I have Soundforge and Goldwave (I use this to record). I'll attempt to mess with a basic vocal track with no effects on Soundforge and see what I come up with.
Will check out "popular" mentioned programs and get them pirated... well with solid serial numbers etc.. See if it's worth purchasing if it works well.
You can never strip vocals from a track without changing some of the audio data. The frequency at which the vocals are located at may be the same as say a hi-hat sample on the track, when you remove the vocals at that frequency you may also remove the hi-hats especially in soundforge using hte graphic/parametric eq sliders.
Good luck and may the schwartz be with you...
(I use Reason 3 and SoundForge 8.0.)
The sailors of the United States Navy are among the most disciplined, devoted, and well-trained fighting men the world has ever known. They drink gasoline and piss fire, The spit bullets and shit bombs, and will swim across the ocean with a knife in their teeth just for the chance to carve up those that threaten their homeland.
I've done it a million times with tracks! All I use is soundforge. I'm sure there are more complex programs that you can use but I've done the same thing that luke has done... I've taken a track edited out the "1 min long vocal with no beat" and made it about 10 secs and still kept the beat count.
I've used edited tracks in my mixes all the time and they still sound great.
hmm, and all this with SoundForge you say? Is it under Effects / filters..etc.
yeah Mike, you got that right bro. that's why i'd really like to have Logic to back up what I can do with Ableton. I'm going to have to look for that stutter effect that one of yous was talkin about because i'm still usin 4 instead of 5. OZONE 3 is an awesome program for mastering. I saw the guy at the clinic I went to for M-Audio and he gave us a free trial copy of that plus the other programs that Izotope makes.
Geoff, what kind of comp you got there bro? I'm using a PC right now until I can get up the $$ for an iMac.
JEFF!!! GET LIVE 5 pronto, it's got so much more in it, the little goodies that annoyed me at first ended up being brilliant when I figured them out, teehee, go fig.
